Lady Tigers See Pink!
Karla Heyduk

On Jan. 24th the White River Lady Tigers hosted a PINK night during their game against
Bennett County.  They wore pink headbands to show their support of breast cancer.  Everyone was asked to WEAR PINK and our community didn't disappoint.  It was a sea of PINK in the stands.

Out front, homemade suckers and pink wrist bands were sold and inside was a HUGE silent auction with over 50 items that were donated by local people and businesses to bid on.

During the interim between games the girls honored some of Mellette County's breast cancer survivors.  Ila Tucker, Teresa Pretty Bird, Margie
Homan, Amanda Hill, & Janelle Adrian were escorted by members of the team.  Others honored were Pat Adrian, Nadine Tucker, and Donna Hallow Horn Bear.  They were each given a pink rose.

The silent auction was manned by Amanda Hill and Karla Heyduk. They sold numbers for $1 so you never knew who you were bidding against.  It
made a fun auction and bids ran up fast.  They also handed out pink beads and nametags to everyone that came by.  The nametags said "I wear pink in honor of..." and people could write in whoever's name they wanted.

As of this typing, with the sale of suckers, bands, numbers, donations and the silent auction we have raised $1066 to be donated to Breast Cancer.  It
couldn't have been done without the help of many dedicated people.

Thanks to everyone that helped.
