Dan Schmidt, WRHS graduate, has Gradutated Law School this past May of 2009. He took the Bar Exam in July of 2009 and was sworn in to practice law in South Dakota in Dec of 2009. He is the son of Ted and the late Candy Schmidt of White River and grandson of Ted and Jean Schmidt of White River.

The goals of the FACE program are: to support parents/primary caregivers in their role as their child’s first and most influential teacher; to increase family literacy; to strengthen family-school-community connections; to promote the early identificationand services to children with special needs; to increase parent participation in their child’s learning; to support and celebrate the unique cultural and linguistic diversity of each American Indian community served by the program; and to promote lifelong learning. Program services integrate language and culture in two settings: home and school.

Whittney LaCroix
Whittney was accepted to USD Nursing Program starting in the Fall of 2010 Whittney was admitted to one of the 40 spots in the class out of 150 applicants to this program, it was her first time applying to the Nursing Program. Being Accepted to any Nursing Program is highly competitive, so for her to get accepted her first try speaks a lot for her dedication and high GPA!

Helen Schwarting has been selected as the 2010 Teacher of the Year for WRSD as well as the 2010 Region 6 Teacher of the Year!!! Congrats Boots! You deserve it!

Tracy Tucker - Family, Career, and Consumer Sciences instructor for the White River High School
Several FCCLA students won
the Chapter Service Display competition and qualified for Nationals this summer,
which is Aneheim (spelling) California - they spoke on their efforts of trying to start a youth center - These students are mentored by Tracy Tucker, instructor and FCCLA advisor of White River High School. Tracy will also be recognized at a national meeting for the Spirit of Advising Award she received the end of April, 2011.

who are constantly faithful, often quietly working behind the scenes to ensure the success of their students. Nominations must be made by state advisers/state contacts. This will also be recognized at Nationals.
